When visiting the Pocono Mountains, it is important to enjoy the natural scenery the area has to offer! Different locations throughout the mountains offer you a wide range of experiences. For instance, places like Lehigh Gorge State Park offer you the chance to bike along 26 miles of trails. Plus, Beltzville State Park will greet you with the opportunity to walk and see the beautiful flowered trees surrounding the lake. Roller Skating
We can all agree that rainy days in the spring are no fun, but there more options than just staying inside! Big Wheel in East Stroudsburg is a local family-owned skating rink that has been here since the 70s. While there have been lots of changes since then, the rink remains a local favorite! Big Wheel offers rentals, food, and an arcade, making it a fun place for everyone!
Mountain Creek Riding Stable
Take in the beauty of the Pocono Mountains while riding with your new horse friend! Mountain Creek Riding Stable is the perfect place to embark on guided trails to view the Poconos at its finest. A huge plus is that the stable is only 9 minutes away! Mountain Creek offers guests access to group or private trail rides year-round. The horses and staff are well trained to make sure you have the best experience possible, whether you are a beginner or an avid rider!
Stock Car Racing
Starting in May, you have the opportunity to peer into the life of a NASCAR driver and take on Pocono Raceway as a driver or rider. At the raceway, you will have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be in a 600-horsepower stock car based on NASCAR. Whether you want to drive 10 miles or 100 miles, Pocono Raceway has a stock car racing option for you! Plus, the raceway also offers Team Pro Kart Racing and Slingshot Rentals, so make sure to check them out when you visit the Pocono Mountains. Camelback Mountain Adventures, located a quick 11-minute drive from The Swiftwater, offers lots of different fun activities, typically beginning in April. One of the biggest attractions is the 4000’ zipline on the mountain. The property even has Pennsylvania’s only mountain coaster! Whitewater Rafting
Are you ready to take on the Lehigh River? Whether you love rafting or are brand new to the adventure, Pocono Whitewater is perfect for you! Beginning with dates in April, their Dam Release trip is a 6-to-7-hour adventure. Then, beginning with dates in May, their Family Style trip features class I and II whitewater, making it the perfect 3-to-4-hour trip for everyone ages 4 and up!
ATV Park
If you’re ready to take your adventures to the dirt and mud, make sure you check out Alvin’s Offroad Playground! Their 1-hour ATV tour starts out at a slower pace until you get comfortable, making it perfect for beginners and avid riders alike! After everyone is ready, the tour guide picks up the pace, taking you through deep puddles and over bumpy hills. This is a can’t-miss, bucket-list-worthy experience!
