Start off your Summer at peace with nature at Promised Land State Park. This beautiful state park features two lakes that you can easily explore via kayak or canoe. If you don’t have your own, that is no problem! Promised Land State Park offers hourly and daily rentals of each, along with rowboats and paddleboats. While you’re out, you may even catch sight of some common fish species like pickerel and sunfish.
Stock Car Racing
Are you ready to experience a piece of a NASCAR driver’s life? Take on Pocono Raceway as a rider or driver with their Stock Car Racing Experience! Plus, there are many options to choose, from a 10-mile drive to a 100-mile drive. The 600-horsepower stock cars are NASCAR-style, meaning you can live out your racing dreams. Slingshot Rentals
In addition to Stock Car Racing, Pocono Raceway also offers Slingshot Rentals! This open-air ride is like no other. Plus, there are 6 pre-mapped route suggestions for you to choose from to help you experience it all. Whether you want to see the state parks, Lake Wallenpaupack, or go on a Wine Trail, they thought of it all!
Air Tours
You’ve seen the beautiful scenery of the Poconos from the mountains, but have you seen it from the sky? Moyer Aviation and Pocono Helitours make it possible with multiple air tour options for you to see the most of the Pocono Mountains. From Moyer Aviation’s Lake Wallenpaupack Tour to Pocono Helitours’ Delaware Water Gap Tour, with a bird’s-eye view like this, you can see it all! Both options take off from the Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport, which is only 10 minutes up the road from The Swiftwater!
Whitewater Rafting
Pocono Whitewater seemingly has it all for the outdoor adventurer! Explore the Lehigh River and surrounding scenery through a Dam Release or Family Style trip, or take on the fun with a private trip. Be sure to check out our Outdoor Adventure Package! If you are looking for even more of a thrill, check out their Moonlight Rafting Adventures option, which takes you down 8 miles of the Lehigh River at night. Then enjoy s’mores, drinks, and a bonfire at the end of your expedition!
Skydiving
Have you ever considered (safely) jumping out of an airplane? Pegasus Skydive Center has you covered! Plus, they are located just 19 minutes away from The Swiftwater. Their Tandem Skydive is the best option for beginners and those that are not licensed skydivers. Pegasus even offers multiple package options for the Tandem Skydive. Whether you want to simply experience or have a video recorded to immortalize the thrill, Pegasus Skydive Center is ready to help!
Boat Tours
Did you know that Lake Wallenpaupack is the second largest lake that is entirely in Pennsylvania? Wallenpaupack Boat Tours offers visitors the opportunity to explore the breath-taking views of Lake Wallenpaupack on a 50-minute scenic boat tour. Along the tour, your guide will also explain the history and area to the group.
Paintballing
The Pocono Mountains is home to the largest paintballing facility in the world: Skirmish Paintballing. Plus, it is located just 34 minutes from The Swiftwater! At Skirmish, they have over 700 acres of paintballing comprised of over 50 maps for you to choose from. This means they have it all, including two castles, inflatable bunkers, swamps, and more! Biking
Exploring the Pocono Mountains on a bicycle has never been easier than with the Lehighton Outdoor Center, located 50 minutes from The Swiftwater. First, you’ll be met with the opportunity to choose between three types of bike rentals: bikes for the D&L Trail (Delaware & Lehigh Heritage Trail), mountain bikes, or children’s bikes. Then, decide what trail you plan to bike. They also offer a shuttle to three different trails that each lead right back to the Lehigh Outdoor Center, making it incredibly convenient. Your last step is to simply enjoy your ride and the scenery!
Ziplining
Ziplining has never been more fun than at Camelback Mountain Adventures Poconos Zipline! Their 1000’ zipline is perfect for thrill seekers of all ages above 6. However, their 4000’ zip rider is the longest zipline in the Pennsylvania state! Whichever length you choose, you will have the time of your life.
